Just a thought.
I see quite a number of people travel to parts of the country where Agricultural produce are cheap to source for them. For example a tuber of yam that cost N400 in Abuja can be almost double in Lagos.
There is still a huge gap between rural zones where Agricultural produce are grown to Urban Centers where they are consumed. For example, a lot of people that travel by road usually buy large quantities of farm produce from the road side citing huge price difference as their reason. Imagine being able to order those farm produce at a slightly higher margin but same quality, or the liberty to choose which part of the country you want a particular farm produce from.
Now the idea is that you not only source the products in bulk but also provide the following as an added advantage:
- Distribution to ordering Customers
- Cleaning and Wrapping of the produce. e.g deliver Yam tubers wrapped in a way that facilitates good storage.
- Much cheaper price than standard Lagos market.
- Better quality. Fresh from the farm.
Starting the business as a small time entrepreneur means your operational costs are cheaper, your margins are better and you can serve a quiet section of society without anyone really paying attention.
