The flatbed industry transporting cars across Nigeria charges nothing less than N20,000 for a day trip. Sometimes this trips take to 2 or 3 days.
An opportunity I feel, is the need for a driver company taking cars across Nigeria. In my personal experience, sending a driver alone with a car turned out disastrous. Drivers crashing cars or claiming the car was stolen from them, when in actual fact there were collisions. With the bad roads in the country, you will surely need a driver who knows the roads, is careful and eventual cost turns out to be cheaper than the flat bed costs.
Obvious disadvantages of this service are increased mileage, wear and tear on the car due to the bad roads and safety. But it is important to say that, within the circumstances, some people do not have a choice. So this opportunity addresses those who do not have a choice than to send a car on the road.
The outlook of such a company would be one where:
- The car is insured for the movement
- Two uniformed and professional drivers accompany the car.
- The company checks all documents and assist in ensuring all documents are complete for the trip.
- The trip may or may not involve the owner of the car.
This creates huge job opportunities as drivers (the more educated the better) are gainfully employed.
In some cases, as an icing on the cake, some of the drivers may be trained tour guides stopping at tourist destinations on the way thereby making the trip more interesting.
Anyway, I leave the rest to your imagination and understanding of the problem.
