Uber, Bolt/Taxify and so many ride hailing companies have come to Nigeria. All have enrolled thousands of drivers unto their platforms and offer transportation services.
The drivers mandatorily use smart phones to receive requests. Having worked in the sector, some major problems the owners of the cars have with the drivers and sometimes the drivers themselves have are the following issues:
- Theft of their phones (or claim of theft)
- Battery life of phones (constant plugging)
- Positioning of phones (they sometimes have to buy all these plastic holders)
- Quality of the phones
- GSM reception capacity of the phones
- Frequent damage to the phone
- Drivers changing partners sometimes take away the phones of the partners or claim theft
A faulty phone always means income loss to the driver.
So i thought of an idea.The drivers can use Android Audio Systems which are easily installed in their cars. With Android Car Audio Systems, the car becomes the phone. The driver need not charge anymore. Theft is unlikely. GPS reception much better as a better antenna is installed. Less possibility of damage.
One can begin to import these android units. Other major advantages of the Android units are:
- Offer free WiFi in the car.
- Offer movies online through video headrests in the car.
- Offer internet music .
- These Android Car Audio systems are completely capable of installing all the ride hailing software like Uber, Taxify/Bolt and a host of others.
- Navigation is much easier as the audio is routed into the car.
- The Audio units are mostly the same price as phones generally.
Some drawbacks worthy of research though is installing the radio in such a way that the GSM part stays alive when the car is off so that phone and internet signals can be received whilst the car is not running. This is important for receiving requests when parked.
